Electric Bike Battery Size

Batteries of Electric bikes come in different sizes and models. The model or the battery structure relies on the bike. So for selecting a battery must remember these points that are following;

E Bike Battery Holder

Pick a battery according to your bike, either it uses a fixed battery or is removable. Because a removable battery can easily be available whereas a fixed battery is a bit difficult to find.

E Bike Battery Cost

A high voltage battery is long-lasting, but it is expensive, whereas a low voltage battery is not long last and cheap. If you are looking for a reasonable and best mileage battery then a 48V battery is a great option. Because it has better performance, fits on budget.

E Bike Battery Capacity

The electric bike comes in various volts, choose one of them according to use and range. Batteries have 36V, 48V, 52V and 72V batteries. A high volt battery lasts for a long time, whereas a low volt battery dead in some hours.

E-Bike Battery Voltage Chart

Battery Company Volts (V) Ampere per hour (Ah)
Juiced 52 V 19.2 Ah
Juiced 52 V 13 Ah
Hemingway 48 V 17.5 Ah
Aventon 48 V 14 Ah
Boogie Bikes 48 V 13.6 Ah
Magnum 48 V 13 Ah
E- Lux 48 V 10.5 Ah
Lectric 48 V 10.4 Ah
OHM 36 V 14 Ah
Sonders 36 V 10.4 Ah
QualiSports 36 V 7 Ah
JupiterBike 36 V 5.2 Ah
Bulls 36 V 3.4 Ah
Gocycle 21.6 V 13.5 Ah

Note: Lithium-ion battery is considered one of the best batteries now a day. It charges in a short time and gives the best mileage of some years. This battery last for 3 to 4 years. It has high power with the best voltage and has charging cycles up to 1000 cycles. So I prefer you to use lithium-ion battery.

What Size Battery is Best for Electric Bike?

The size of the battery depends on the position of battery.

Electric Bike Battery Location

Gather some knowledge about the batteries holder position and location before choosing a battery for an electric bike. There is different battery position for different bikes, and these battery positions are as follows;

  • Frame Battery
  • Rack Battery
  • Integrated Battery
  • Dual Battery

Frame Battery

This frame position is angled down the tube. It is near the center of gravity of the bike. This battery position is flexible and suits many kinds of electric bikes. Mountain bikes, commuter bikes and road bikes are the best examples of Frame Batteries.

Rack Battery

The position of the rack battery is higher than the other battery positions. This battery position is comfortable and convenient for ladies and the elder so that the battery can easily turn ON/OFF.

Integrated Battery

The battery is fixed in bikes that cannot be removable. The bike design is sketched in such a way that the battery is integrated into it. It is difficult to distinguish between a simple bike and this battery type of bike. As the battery is fixed in a position that cannot be removed nor replaced and like other batteries it is not easy to charge. The best model for aesthetics lovers is Integrated Battery.

Dual Battery

Dual means two, so in this frame position, two batteries are adjusted. The batteries are unparalleled, and this is a high bike that is used for a long tour and cargo service. Best for those who love long mountain tours and for those who want to give cargo services over long distances without any problem.

3 Electric Bike Battery Selection Tips

Following points when you are going to choose the best battery for your bike;

  • Confirm your battery position. Your battery is integrated, dual, rack or frame? Because it defines the battery structure.
  • Estimate your usage of the bike. Because every battery has some charging cycles, after completion of those life cycles, the battery starts draining. For a short distance, a small battery is best, but for long routes, a heavy battery is required.
  • Confirm the battery volts and amperes usage because the power of the bike depends on volts. Check the battery life span and weight as well. The battery charging time and mileage cover after charge.
